For coated concrete fischer has verified, through an independently accredited testing institute and expert report, that the fixing system fulfils the WHG.
The general construction technique permit and the expert report of the anchors require that the users are trained.

Protect the environment: Use WHG compliant anchors.

The term “plant-related water protection” means constructing operational plants to protect against water or soil damage when using water polluting substances. This also helps to avoid significant operational and economic costs.  Anchors for plants containing water polluting substances that are not fitted with two sealing levels must fulfil specialised requirements in accordance with the German Water Resources Law (WHG) and the Plant Regulations (AwSV).
The guidelines of the Deutschen Ausschuss für Stahlbeton (DAfStb) “Concrete construction when handling water polluting substances” (BUmwS) require the use of bonded anchors that have been confirmed to be suitable with the substrate used. A general construction technique permit is an ideal way to fulfil this requirement. With the injection mortar FIS EM Plus, fischer has created a system confirmed as approved for use with existing liquid impermeable concrete (LI concrete), and has received the first general construction technique permit from the Deutsche Institut für Bautechnik (DIBt) for a variety of materials. For coated concrete, fischer has verified through an accredited testing institute and expert report that the fixing system fulfils the WHG. The system also has an ETA for static load, which is a requirement for the general construction technique permit.

LI/LIP concrete

LI/LIP concrete is a type of concrete with special resistance against penetration by water polluting substances. LIP concrete is a liquid impermeable concrete with penetration testing. LI concrete is designed to be considered liquid impermeable, based on its specialised recipe.  
 

Coated concrete

If the WHG, the surface has a special coating applied to the concrete, then the coating alone is responsible for sealing against water polluting substances. Building approvals for the coatings do not include any drill holes, for instance for plugs and anchors, so fischer has developed and tested a system that maintains the seal of the coatings against water polluting substances. fischer has also had this system independently evaluated.
 

Tested & officially approved: general construction technique permit.

When installing anchors in WHG sealed surfaces, a hole is drilled into the WHG surface, potentially reducing the seal at this location. However, the seal and resistance must be verified in the area of the anchors as well.

Now, fischer offers solutions for these applications that can be used to install anchors in WHG sealing surfaces according to the German Water Resources Law (WHG) and Plant Regulations (AwSV).

With the injection mortar FIS EM Plus, fischer has obtained the first general construction technique permit for WHG compliant anchors for applications in LI concrete. The system was comprehensively tested with materials in media list 4 of the DIBt.

Expert report for anchors in coated WHG sealing surfaces

fischer has had the injection mortar FIS EM Plus tested by an accredited testing institution in commonly used coatings for anchors in coated WHG surfaces, and had its suitability confirmed by an independent report. This verifies that the injection mortar FIS EM Plus is sealing and resistant to the materials listed in DIBt media list 1.

Function and installation manual.

LI concrete:

An anchor in LI concrete must be designed so that no liquid can penetrate through the anchor in the concrete. The drill hole can be constructed using hammer drilling or with a hollow drill bit. The drill hole depth must always be at least 50 mm less than the substrate thickness. The epoxy mortar FIS EM Plus, anchor rod FIS A / RG M or internal-threaded anchor RG MI and WHG marking are required for anchors in LI concrete. In general, the aBG requires anchor materials made of stainless steel for WHG applications.

WHG labelling with marking disc:

The marking disc is an important part of the fischer WHG fixing system. It clearly and permanently indicates use of the correct system, and facilitates simple, reliable building approvals. It is mounted between the washer and attachment.

 

Coated concrete:

The seal is achieved by filling the annular gap between the anchor rod, attachment and base coating with FIS EM Plus mortar. The anchor solution in coated concrete includes epoxy mortar FIS EM Plus, the FIS A / RG M anchor rod or RG MI internal-threaded anchor and the WHG set. Sealing is tested for epoxy floor coatings.

WHG set:

The fischer WHG-Set is used for anchors in coated concrete. The WHG set is used to fill the annular gap with injection mortar FIS EM and seal it. The fixing point is labelled as a WHG compliant anchor. The epoxy mortar FIS EM Plus, anchor rod FIS A and the WHG set are required for  anchors in coated concrete.
